We wanted to eat Unagi so much that we picked this restaurant with good reviews. It is not strategically located and we relied on taxi to bring us here. It has a very traditional Japanese dining setting, the dinning table and chair are placed on tatami mat. Ordered a set each of the 2-pcs Yanamabushi set and 3-pcs Unaju set. Each set comes with soup, green veggie and a small dish of mushrooms. The delicious of kabayaki are grilled to perfection, it is basted in a savoury and not overpowering sweet sauce. The fillet is very soft and fluffy, pleasant on the-palate and without a fishy or earthy aftertaste. The highlight of the dinner is the grilled eel livers skewer, kimoyaki. It has a distinctive succulent texture and paired well with sake. The environment here is pleasant and staff is extremely friendly and courteous. The staff even assisted to call a taxi for us after the dinner. Two thumbs up to this excellent restaurant.

This was such an amazing experience 🥹🥹🥹 we took our queue number & took around 45 mins wait for Friday lunch. The service was swift once we were inside. I personally like the Hitsumabushi set, it was grilled perfectly . If you are hungry a 250 grams rice + medium was more than enough! It was truly a fantastic meal. Like a warm hug! The sauces they provided "spicy" and "sweet" were fantastic.

I went there at about 1 with my sister. We had to wait about 40 minutes to eat. They gave us fried eel tail as a snack before we ate. (Free) The unagi was very soft and the sauce tasted very good. The salmon was good as well but I recommend the unagi. For about 4000¥ I had a very delicious, filling meal. I recommend this place if you ever come to the area or have the time.

Excellent unagi (eel) restaurant on the west side of Matsumoto Station, across the river. The eel comes grilled and seasoned to perfection, and can be eaten in many different ways (with or without broth, or by adding various spices or herbs). Well worth the price and experience, would happily come back anytime.

The eel is baked like a crispy outside. In addition, the sauce flavored with sweet and pungent coexistence. If you eat with rice, it will be very tasty.

We waited for 30 mins (we were there around 5.30pm) we used queue kiosk in front of the restaurant to reserve table. The staffs are very friendly and attentive. The food are delicious surprisingly grilled pork also very nice not only eel.

A hidden gem in the back streets of Matsumoto, so glad we went to seek it out. Possibly the best Unagi (eel) we've ever eaten. Wonderful atmosphere, very friendly place and great service. English version of the menu made ordering easy.

Personally not an unagi person, but this place still blows my mind with the quality and taste! Visited another unagi place in Tokyo Ginza area and while that place was supposedly Michelin Bib-recommended, this place is definitely much better :) Dining is done on their traditional tatami as well so be prepared for a full Japanese experience. Such a gem to be found in Matsumoto!
